 | | | Paul Sen (M.Inst.Ch.P. ACSM HFI) Personal Trainer
| Paul originally qualified as a Chiropodist, but in 2000, his studies of Anatomy and Physiology enabled him to communicate with fellow gym members what was happening as they worked out.
It seemed he was a natural instructor, and for this reason he gained his HFI Fitness Instructor certificate followed by the American College of Sports Medicine ACSM Health Fitness Instructor certificate Gold Standard.
| | Fionnuala Sen (BA CIMA SNHS) Nutritionist
| Fionnuala started out as a UK qualified Management Accountant. Her role is largely involved in the day to day running of the business, and she is your contact when enquiring about Renaissance.
Fionnuala studied with the London based School of Natural Health Sciences and gained a diploma in Nutrition in 2006. She is currently studying for her Advanced level diploma, and works closely at the Academy with Dr Jean Millar.
| | Dr. Jean Millar (MB.ChB) Medical Doctor
| Dr Jean Millar is a British GP with over 30 years in practice. She has also trained extensively in homeopathy, hypnotherapy and eating for health. When appropriate and acceptable to the patient, she recommends combining traditional medicine with complimentary therapies.
Dr Millar founded her Spanish practice Clinica Perlamar, Calpe, on the Costa Blanca in 2003. From this clinic in addition to her General Practice, she runs a healthy weight loss program for local residents. Dr Millar teaches a simple eating plan, which when applied correctly, will increase energy and alertness, and address problems such as obesity, irritable bowel syndrome, allergies, diabetes, migraine and sometimes insomnia and depression.
| | Rani Hook (BA (Hons) NVQ2 (YMCA)) Pilates and Pool Instructor
| Rani Hook, our Pilates and pool instructor, is UK trained and has 8 years experience in the exercise and leisure industry. She previously worked at the Denia La Sella Marriott Hotel as an instructor in Pilates and Spinning.
Rani has trained to instruct in the Joseph Pilates system, Spinning, Aerobics, gym sessions and pool work outs.
| | Michelle Thornton (BSc Hons Sports Science and Exercise, AIF - Master Trainer, REPS 3, ASA - Swimming coach)
| Michelle is a highly motivating and dedicated personal trainer. A former competitive swimmer and Sports Science graduate, Michelle has had experience in the health and fitness industry for many years. After completing her degree, she went on to qualify as a Personal Trainer with the Australian Institute of Fitness. She has also worked within top health clubs, and eventually came back to Spain as a teacher of trainers and a freelance personal trainer.
Michelle is an ASA qualified swimming teacher and a REP’s associated personal trainer, competent to teach aerobics, boxing, one to one gym sessions and pool sessions.
| | Gerard Krol (NGVA) Physiotherapist and Acupuncture
| Gerard Krol is a Dutch qualified Physiotherapist who specialises in Manual therapy, Sports physiotherapy and Acupuncture. Gerard also has a Physiotherapy practice at the Clinica Asistel, Moraira on the Costa Blanca.
Those clients arriving with musculoskeletal problems have a consultation with Gerard in their first week and if any problems are evident, Gerard advises the Trainers regarding Physiotherapy exercises to improve the situation.
| | Rubina Morton (FICHT, MAR, Raw.Dip., ITEC, IHHT) Advanced Reflexology Practitioner & Reiki Master
| Rubina Morton is a Fellow Member of the International Council of Holistic Therapists, Member of the Association of Reflexologists and Member of the Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT). She is also Area Group Leader (Spain) for the Association of Reflexologists (UK).
She qualified at The Raworth College, Dorking, Surrey (UK) in 2000 and has continued to develop her skills with on-going training and development especially in the field of reflexology, and is trained in Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT) and Stone Sole Therapy.
Rubina believes our emotions play a vital role in our physical health and reflexology can bring about awareness to the mind and body connection. During the treatment, she incorporates lymphatic drainage, intestinal link, hormonal balance, meridian points and advanced pressure techniques to restore balance, induce deep relaxation, boost immunity, release toxins and improve bodily functions.
| | Francesca Stutely Rosen Practitioner and Hatha Yoga instructor
| Francesca studied in Berkeley, California with Marion Rosen for two years and with Sue Brenner, Director of Rosen Centre East Coast for a further two years, completing her internship as a Rosen Practitioner in 1995.

For over 20 years, Francesca had been practising Yoga in Australia and the USA. On coming to Spain she decided to do a teacher training course in Hatha Yoga and gained her certificate in June 2006 from the Yoga Centre, Madrid (Asociacion Internacional de profesores de Yoga Sananda)
Hatha Yoga is a perfect form of exercise, bringing together mind, body and spirit. It is a series of asanas or postures designed to tune, strengthen, align and calm the body.
| | Debra Adams (ITEC) Massage, Indian Head Massage and Reiki
| Debra Wilkinson qualified at Christchurch College in Dorset before pursuing her career as a Holistic Massage Therapist. She ran a private practice in Bournemouth for a number of years, and was a great believer in the attitude that massage should be a necessity rather than a pampered treat.
The health of our muscles is important when living a fulfilling life and it is vital to treat and relieve the pain and stiffness caused by bad posture and work-related strain. Keen to add to the healing methods she could offer, Debra trained in Reiki and now offers both disciplines here in Spain.
| | Katherine Pearson SNHS Dip. (Psychotherapy and Counselling) SNHS Dip. (Nutrition) Motivational Therapist
| Katherine has Diplomas from the School of Natural Health Sciences in both Psychotherapy/Counselling and Nutrition. She is currently studying Advanced Nutrition, Anatomy and Physiology and Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
Katherine is passionate about helping people to help themselves and strongly believes that our mood and lifestyle can be enhanced by self-awareness and life skill tools.
Proficient in the skills of Assertiveness, Time-Management, Supervision, Management, Finance, Adult Teacher/Training and Dealing with Difficult People; Katherine is able to help you find your own solutions in overcoming any issues you may have in the workplace or in other areas of your life.
Healthways, an inch-loss club focusing on nutrition and the mindset, has been created by Katherine to help residents in the surrounding local area. Clients can enjoy small group discussions or for those in need of more personal attention, one to one consultations are available.
